Improving three-phase separator performance for cleaner oil, gas, and water separation.
Three-phase separators are critical equipment in oil and gas processing, separating the produced fluid into oil, gas, and water streams. Separator performance directly affects product quality and downstream processing requirements.
A production facility's three-phase separators were not achieving design separation efficiency. The oil stream contained excess water, the water stream contained excess oil, and the gas stream had higher liquid carryover than acceptable.
Merus Ring installation upstream of the separators improved the separation characteristics of the incoming fluid. The emulsion was destabilized before entering the separator, allowing for more efficient phase separation under the same operating conditions.
